Absorbing Light
comments (23)
The greatest skill on earth is to keep one's inner light alive. On the opposite side of the spectrum is the ability to recognize and to absorb the inner light of others. Not everyone posesses such a gift. I think you do.
Welcome back to shutter.
Kathryn: This photograph is a compliment to your http://nostalgia.shutterchance.com/photoblog/Viktionary:_The_Inner_Light_/ . After looking at your photograph and reading your posts, I began thinking of inner lights and the symbiotic relationship of give and take of energy and light---the yin and yang of inner light and strength. I am not so sure it is a gift, Viktor, but more that it "clicks" when there is an emotional connection with someone. At any rate, I am glad you think I have it.
Thank you kindly for your welcome back. I am feeling better and happy to be back posting when so inspired.
A shot of light - good for the soul. Lovely to see in out rqainy spring.
Kathryn: Light is good for my soul for sure and I am happy to hear it is good for your soul too, Mary. Early May in Florida is painted mostly beautiful blues and greens,
I like the simplicity of the photo. The mix of shadows and leaf patterns is lovely.
Kathryn: "Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler" -- Albert Einstein.
Nice to know you find them as lovely as I did. It was really wonderful to sit under them and watch the wind make the light dance on the leaves as they fluttered against that blue sky,
Kathryn, welcome back!!!!!
I love this picture, the light, the green the blue sky..sometimes our/mine pictures reflect my inner me..when I see your picture I do hope you have the same feeling..light IS good fo the soul.
Kathryn: Thanks so much for the welcome back, Astrid. There is light in my soul both from its own source and from the wonderful friends who have been with me throughout the last couple of months. I feel light and green and blue and I feel it deep in my soul.
Lovely to see you back Kathryn and with a positive picture of fresh leaves glowing in the sun. At the moment we are being lashed by rain and wind so this has brightened my day
Kathryn: Thanks so much, Bill. Nice to be able to slide in on a beautiful blue green light breeze. I've missed our exchanges. I am happy to have brightened your day.
Kathryn, how beautiful that you are back- a come back with such a wonderful colourful photo- "lichtdurchflutet", "zonovergoten" suffused with light- full of hope and new springlike beginning and a kind of re-birthing, inspired and fulfilled with 'inner light'- these are the best conditions to get healthy again and feeling better and better- with my best wishes to you! Philine
Kathryn: Philine, you have attached yourself for me to the color green so much so that every time I look at something like this, I think of you. Yes Springlike...new beginnings, a transformation of sorts, rebirth from darkness into light. I am beginning to feel better and am trying to focus on this beautiful spring in the here and now.
Hope all is well with you! --Kathryn
Beautiful light and lovely colours. It's such a simple idea, but it works so well. You really get the feeling of sheltering under a canopy of green with the glimpses of sky in the background. Welcome back - you have been missed!
Ingrid
Kathryn: Thanks so much, Ingrid. I love those colors and lights too and the glimpse of the sky, that holds so much promise. I've missed you too.
Doing their thing with great panache.
Very calming image, Kathryn.
Kathryn: You bet they are, Ray. I frequently visualize this when I need some peace. Nice to connect with you again.
Beautiful image for your welcome return. Nice colours and subject.
Kathryn: Nice to know you like it, Aussie.
This is a truly delightful, Kathryn.
Kathryn: We can thank mother nature for it, Chad.
actually took some shots similar to this Kathryn walking round Swinsty last weekend but none looked quite as good as this does, lovely shot
Kathryn: We are of the same mind then, Tim. Thanks for the vote of confidence.
A very refreshing picture, it looks very much like spring
Hopefully you're doing as well as these fresh leaves, Kathryn.
Kathryn: April and May in Florida are like July in Germany, Thomas. I found the play of shadows and depth interesting too. I am working on getting as well as the fresh leaves, Thomas. Nice to hear from you and how is the thesis going?
Welcome back Kathryn.
The light in your shot is so inviting. I could sit there and look at it for hours with many positive thoughts in mind!
Kathryn: Thanks for the welcome back, Richard. Light is always inviting especially in dark times. Feel free to look as long as you like while those positive thoughts flow.
Love the light filtering thru the trees..and how you've artfully captured it. There are so many hidden shapes formed by the shadows!
Kathryn: Marcie, thank you so much for the comment. There are so many things that are hidden both in the light and in the shadows.
Lovely capture, Kathryn. It makes me think of nice cool shade in long hot days...sipping a great glass of ice tea.
Kathryn: Thanks so much, Kay. Yes or laying in a hammock!
Well that is exactly what they are doing. Simple and effective. Must be an oasis in that desert landscape that you are in ;o)
Kathryn: There is always an oasis in a desert... imagined or real
Missed ya - and you are back celebrating spring grean, sun and shade.
Currently I am so snowed under work, that I get real jealous of people with the time to xplore
Kathryn: Snowed under? Yikes, Louis. I have missed you too and am only somewhat back. Still in the recovery process and my energy is limited.
What a refreshing shot to take my mind off the rain and flooding we're 'enjoying' in the UK right now.
Beautifully crisp and vivid
Kathryn: We all need diversions from time to time. Nice to know I could provide one for you. Hope your weather perks up.
Good to see you and your photography is re-emerging.
richard
Kathryn: Thanks, Richard. Once I am out and about more, I will have more to post.
Gorgeous, lovely spring green against a bright blue sky. It makes me think of sunshine, something that's sadly lacking here.
Kathryn: Ellie, there is not much of a lack of sunshine here in Florida, be it regular or liquid
Simply Beautiful Kathryn. :o) John
Such a delicate weave of clour, light and natures solar panels, Kathryn. A very enjoyable and uplifting image.
this works for me
