beautiful abstract........and i love your title too
Kathryn: Moi, thanks. Lately there is something in me that does not really want things to be crisp and clear--so abstracts work for me.
Very nice. Abstract. I like much, Kathryn. I am going away to allow to show a connection me, you will be able to see the coincidences http://jasdg.shutterchance.com/photoblog/Mal_reflection_/
Kathryn: Jose-Angel, thanks so much for the link. I see those soft fluid lines in your image too. Nice to know you appreciate them as much as I do.
Lovely abstract reflection, beautiful tones. The B&W is perfect.
Kathryn: Thank you, Aussie. But maybe you are just in a night shift daze
…with trembling hand she tried to sketch elusive image,
but gust of wind got crumpled her illusive canvas…
Kathryn: illusions eluded her...
Gorgeous abstract, Kathryn. Great title, too. (:o)
Kathryn: Thanks so much. Roz! Glad to know you like it. I have another reflection image I will post in a few days, I think.
I love this creativity you have Kathryn. What a wonderful picture.
Kathryn: Thanks, Kay! NIce to know you like it..sometimes I think I get a little too creative and go off on tangents. Mind you, I've nothing against a good tangent!
Fluid and mercurial, Kathryn. Nice!
Kathryn: Thanks, Ginnie.
Magnificent!!!WOW :0) this is so well captured, love it, very nice job here Kathryn.
Kathryn:
.....linear dispersion. richard.
Kathryn: Linear dispersion in relationship to this image reminds me a bit of Glick's Chaos Theory, R. What do you think? Patterned chaos?
Very nice B&W shot Kathryn.I like the ripples splitting the tree in two parts
Kathryn: Thank you, Richard. Ripples are what make life interesting, I think.
i see, i reflect...
Kathryn: self-reflection?
Such a dream-like quality here and the white ghost rising from her shoulder makes it boost the imagination.
Kathryn: The water was so crisp and it was late in the afternoon as the sun was slipping down, Mary. I think that little white area is a combination of the sun and the low lighting ..slower shutterspeed.
Such a wonderful abstract subject. My compliments Kathryn
Kathryn: Thank you so kindly, Scarlet.
Like a willow, weeping over loss of its leaves.
Very sensuous lines and ripples in this image, Kathryn.
Kathryn: Ray, i find it sensuous too and beautifully emotional.
nice idea, thw wrinkeld water is good
Kathryn: Thanks, Chantal. The little duckies were nice enough to swim by and make those wrinkles for me!
Nice abstract, Kathryn.
Kathryn: Thanks, Flo.
Excellent - you are an artist. Going to my likeys.
Kathryn: Louis now i am smiling hugely because I've always said, I am a much better visual artist than a photographer. I guess it has to do with the fact that I have dabbled in other forms of art...painting, sketching, animation, multimedia...
All of that to say thank you for your kind words and compliment.
ha, iv just been down to the canal to stretch my back and look for something like this, but it was frozen, great image Kathryn
Kathryn: Thank you, Tim! Did you get some good frozen canal photographs?
Nice abstract image Kathryn.
Kathryn: Thanks, Bernie.
Nice idea! This is a good take on the reflection shot.
Kathryn: Tis the season for reflections shots I noted. Nature was kind enough to generate one for me too.
Love this shot...a metaphor for something I'm sure...the kind of image I strive to capture.
Kathryn: A metaphor for many things, Dodge, I am sure. Most of them having to do with illusions and perception...at least for me, that is.
Thanks for your comment and taking time to look.
this is awesome. Really imaginative and i appreciate the tightness between frame and title. Very nice ;-)
p.s I see a red shmood.. can only say perhaps more contrast? What do you think?
Kathryn: Attah, I struggling with naming to be honest, but this one was, well let's say-- Muse inspired. Perhaps a little more contrast, I will have a look at it. I do like a bit obscure, but maybe you are right. There are times when I have a hard time with those judgments because I know what it is I see or want to see, but for someone else, it may be TOO obscure.
Thank you for your thoughtful and constructive comment.
The more I look at this the better it gets. I wasn't struck at first but now I like it. You're making me think Kathryn!
Kathryn: Bill, do like I do, close one eye and squint with the other, then you can see whatever you want
Thanks for your comment and it is ok to tell me when something does not work for you.
Nice abstract B&W picture !
Kathryn: Thanks, Roland. Maybe not as abstract as you suspect.
Works really well Kathryn - nice framing of the shot.
Your title reminds me of a video one of the post grads did at University a couple of years ago. He shot the film of himself "writing" into the water with a stick interupting a reflection (of a sunset, I think) to make the letters which of course vanished instantaeously leaving squiggly ripples. Long winded way of saying this image does have an artistic quality if you wish it to be seen in that context.
Kathryn: Mike, this morning, I was thinking about this image and wondering if I should have taken the time to do a little something more with it..the more...perhaps just a hint of pencil lead in the lower corner...poised as if sketching.
And that was my longwinded way of saying thank you. And that was my longwinded way of saying thank you.
Well spotted Kathryn
Kathryn: Thanks, Chris. I have an eagle eye and can spot with the best of them!
Excellent find for a picture ! I can see many faces appearing/merging in the reflection.
Kathryn: Wow Aps. that is amazing because when I look at it, I only see one!
I like this, it's a simple-looking picture, but very hard to get right.
Kathryn: Thank you, Ellie. You are right about that. I filled up my sd card with reflection images that day and only 1 or 2 are decent.
This works very well. I like the idea
I love this shot. It's very dream like and meditative. For me it symbolizes the frailty of reality.
