Gone Too Soon

Lovely!
Kathryn: Thanks, Chris.
This is excellent! I particularly like the background which has just enough texture to give this bird somewhere to go. It may be worth trying to crop a little off the top and the right to see how that looks.
Kathryn: Thanks, Martin. I'll consider the crop. Nice to know the background works with the texture and gives the bird a place to go.
The movement of the bird is very strong, the faded whight around the bird gives that illusion, Martin has 'point' about a slight crop, but I do love this pictures beacause of the tones are well balanced.
Kathryn: Astrid, thank you for your comment. The faded white is a result of the slower shutterspeed to give the illusion of movement, I'll give some consideration to Martin's crop idea and your encouraging it.
I am not sure what balanced tones are. I guess I need to do a little reading huh?
Very nice. Everything blurred or out of focus works beautifully here. I like the lines in the background.
Kathryn: Thanks, Jewyla. Your comment was very nice too.
Again a beautiful shot Kathryn.
Kathryn: Thanks, Richa.
I particularly like the wing blur, I cant make my mind up about the body though, too picky maybe
Kathryn: Nig, having worked with long shutter times yourself, you know how it goes. Some time, you luck into it, and some times you don't. I am picky too so no worries.
Great capture
Kathryn: Thanks.
Oh yes this is very very good. Everything is right for me. Blurred to good effect the bird is sweeping across the canvas. Do not touch this in any way!
Kathryn: Cheers, Bill. Glad it works for you!
For me, Kathryn, this is like an Origami, paper cut-out bird! I would not change one thing about this crop, and I REALLY like the texture of the background water.
I'm quite sure it was "gone too soon," but it still has time to fly across the page, which I love.
Kathryn: Yes, Ginnie you are right--on the page for you and in my mind for me.
Extrovert skills. richard
Kathryn: I am pretty good at reading between the lines, Richard, or even filling in the blanks when needed, but I am at a loss as to what you mean? Take pity on me and HELP me interpret this?
This is just excellent Kathryn. I love it
Kathryn: Thanks, Richard.
…a rebel-soul longs for storms
but no peace she’ll find within…
Kathryn: Peace can be found
in the eye of the most violent of storms
I especially like the background which gives the illusion to me that the "Lüfte" be endless! And this gives a touch of absolute freedom -although the form of the photo is drawing lines, this is for me an advice that the photography like each other kind of art has its certain limits.
Kathryn: Makes me wonder about limits in general and what they are in relationship to photography and art.
Thank you for the thought provoking comment. Absolute freedom is an absolute illusion.
momentarily gone, Kathryn. and the moment is relative. belief begins with an open heart.
Kathryn: Terry, touche' ..I think I echoed some of those sentiments to you recently.
Action...looks like everything, including the camera is moving, Kathryn.
Gulls are such beautiful flyers, as your picture shows.
Cool shutterspeedexperiment
Excellent, only one soul left. One of the most favourite musicals from my younger years was Jonathan Seagull. I could listen to it endless. Was better than studying anyhow
There was one song that started with the word Lone (in Neil Diamond's version it was very well accentuated). You see where your picture is taking me. I think you can try different crops if you like, but the one to the right border will not work in my estimate.
They don't have to be pin sharp to produce a worthwhile result.
On the wings of a dove.
Lovely capture Kathryn.
I like the position of the bird in the frame and think the unbalanced nature gives the image its edge - NO CROPPING imho.
wonderful feeling of movement Kathryn well done
Really nice capture Kathryn, like the space around the bird, i wouldn't crop it.
I do so like this, it's beautiful
ethereal. mal
A flying piece of art!
Kathryn: Some refer to seagulls in a less than flattering way.I love them. They are beautiful and if they have become aggressive, we've done that to them.
Nice!
you have a knack for these kathryn
