Yes, you are right- if we are ready to look at these gentle, white balls of the dandelions (Löwenzahn) for some time- as child I liked to blow the see-heads away- in one 'hui'- but now I like to observe them and to protect them -if that were possible! The dandelions have inspired so many poets (I can imagine why...)!

Die weiße Kugel des Löwenzahns
hat winzige Zähne aus Hauch.

Do you remember the last sunday in Hannover? - a very fine day! and I hope we can enjoy this sunday, too!

Kathryn: They are gentle white balls of fluff, Philine. I can see how you might want to protect them. They have a certain airy childlike innocence about them, don't they?

Since Wednesday, I have been ill and mostly in bed, but today, Philine, we drove to where the cherry trees are--a trip over the mountains and close to the Leine Fluss. The cherry blossoms were gone, but in their place were fields and fields of Löwenzahn. We spread out a blanket and lay atop of one of the hills in one of those fields and came away finding ourselves covered in pollen and those delicate little seeds from the dandelions. What a joy to feel the sun and to be surrounded by nature in its purest form! This Sunday was a lovely as last and you were there with us in spirit.

I will see if I can get my personal "translator" to help me with the translation of this lovely poem.

Kathryn: Bill, not long ago we went deep into the forest to participate in the world wide event "100 Hours of Astronomy." We were lucky to be able to climb to the top of a tower and peer out into the heavens using a 240X telescope. Yes, a small world...of which we are a grain of sand.

This is the most beautiful poem about the Dandelion/Löwenzahn/Pusteblume (blow-flow), oh, sadly, I didn't find any translation, w e have to translate it, Kathryn!

Lovely seed heads ... I feel itis a distant relative to the dandelions. Of course there is no certainty of the scale of things here. Great in black and white ...
But with you recovering from your medical issues I would have thought some colour would have been the route you might have taken.
