Standing on the edge
Looking at the world Upside down. Or maybe the whole world Is upside down and it's me Who's looking straight?
Kathryn: Standing on my head
Looking at the sky Right side up with the world upside down and I like it.
Looks like a rather inviting underside of the world to me. The ancients had it all wrong, apparently
Kathryn: Maybe it is the upside of the world?
The only thing missing is Astrid's bicycle, Kathryn.
Seriously, it looks like it's going to be a glorious day. That's my take on it!
Kathryn: I think Astrid hopped on and went exploring the sky.
It was a glorious day, bitter cold, but so so sunny.
I smiled when this came on my screen, yes they rode of with my bicycle, but you captured a very outstanding reflection of the sky, I do hope you don't feel like standing on the edge of the world though, there is a fence...and the sun....and you know me....always look at the bright sight...even in difficult times.
Kathryn: Oh Astrid, there is nothing i would like more than to stand on the edge of the world and spread my wings and fly. Philine coined the phrase "a bath in the sky." Isn't that such a beautiful thought.
An excellent picture and title. It is as if one is looking through a glass portal.
Kathryn: Kathryn in Wonderland...through the glass portal!
Looking into the abyss, but come on in...the water looks fine
Kathryn: That's the spirit, Bill. Dive right on in!
This is an unusual, interesting pic! And I like the kind of aleniations and mix-up of different elements: the chains, the water-sky with its waves-clouds- it must have been a lovely, sunny day- but the title gives the photo a kind of 'Tiefsinn' I cannot agree with- better for me: without title or ' 'looking down is beautiful' or 'a bath in the sky' 'my swimming eyes' or...
Kathryn: Oh Philine, I love the title a bath in the sky. Oh that is just such a beautiful poetic thought.
The edge of the world for me was not a negative one, but one full of possibilities and hopefulness. That watery blue dreaming sky promises me dreams and gives me a place to stretch my wings. A very sunny day, but perhaps the coldest we've had this winter. I was outside for less than 5 minutes and then had to retreat to warmth.
Nice reflection.
Kathryn: Funny that you would mention reflection. I've been reflecting on nice reflection and find that to be reflectively nice.
I can't help smiling at the thought of there being a fence "at the edge of the world". Apparently those early sailors had nothing to fear - the nanny state has erected a fence to ensure we don't fall off. Excellent photo btw ;o)
Kathryn: The fence is to keep those wayward souls from blindly wandering off the edge of the world. It makes diving off into the sky an act of deliberation.
Thanks, Mike.
Nice reflection and clouds ones create a special effect in the water ... Well spotted !!!
Kathryn: Thanks, Ann, but I would have had to lose my glasses and be blind completely blind not to have spotted it.
It looks rather inviting to me - the clouds swirling in the water almost look like the sea. Don't fall off now!
Ingrid
Kathryn: Don't fall off....dive off! Come on it, Ingrid, the water is beautiful.
When I was a kid, I would be fascinated by reflections of the sky in water and believe that you would somehow end up in the sky eventually if you would only take the plunge. Who's to know?
Kathryn: Let's take the plunge, Mary. It looks so promising.
Some unfriendly landowner has strung razor wire at the edge ... as if mere razor wirewould prevent us from bursting through for the adventure that obviously awaits.
Superb image, Kathryn.
Kathryn: Yes, Ray, as if mere razor wire would prevent us. The watery sky promises such adventure.
great idea this way
Kathryn: Would it be a bad idea that way?
Very well spotted. Nice capture.
Kathryn: Well thank you! For a half blind gal wearing trifocals. I can spot generally spot things bigger than a barn!
Very nice I feel upside Down
Kathryn: I hate to be the one to tell you, but you are upside down in the land down under!
Very reflection shot. I like the ripples effect!
Kathryn: I am such a reflective shooter!
The ripples are as pretty as green grass, aren't they?
It does look very much like it. I love the refection and the little border given by the posts and chain. Did you consider flipping this through 180 deg?
Kathryn: Thanks Alan. Sure I considered flipping it and decided against it. For me it holds much more appeal upside down as it is disorienting!
G spot!
Nicely minimal, and again you are making people think and reflect
I know you will ask, so I am thinking whats underneath.
Kathryn:
lol at your response to VZ Kathryn, love the painted effect of the sky in the water, well done
Kathryn: thanks, Tim, I had to laugh at myself too. Nice to know the water/sky works for you.
Nice Kathryn, very subtle.
Kathryn: Thank you so much, Dave.
Lovely shot Kathryn. Beautiful reflection.
What a contrast between the reflected sky and the black black shadows
Nice shot Kathryn. Did you jump? It looks very enticing somehow.
I like this reflection!
this is luvly reflection shot, kathryn.
Nicely done once again !!
clever shot kathryn
can't fault this one
I like reflections, and this one is no exception. I like your title, and I can see the edge...
